Has confirmed that I might be James May.
This is a thing that I want.

I’ll be like James and drive a panda if that means I can have an Alpine a110 and Ferrari 458 or whatever else he owns on the side.

That episode sold the Panda for shure

I think in general I’ve been closer to May than Hammond or Clarkson for quite some time now.

Yup! I have always loved the FIAT Panda 4x4! I would gladly take a newer Panda 4x4 with a manual as well....would be a perfect winter car here in Canada! second-gen Panda 4x4s should be available to import here in the next year or two!

I probably waver between Hammond and May. I don’t share May’s love for luxobarges and I would daily Oliver in a heartbeat.

Rub it in why don’t you. I could buy this one!

I become more James May with every passing year. In fact often as I'm watching with my wife she'll say "that is so you" after something May says/does.

This special is proof that I’m a hillbilly at heart. Hammond’s was my favorite. I’d have gotten rid of the flames and re-geared it properly (because I have a feeling it never was) and that’d be the one of the three I’d have.

You could certainly import and Panda 4x4 of the first generation! Beware as they rust like mad though! :P

Honestly of the three I always thought May would be the coolest to hang out with. Maybe that’ s because he has gone to space, or because he seems to enjoy building part so much.

edited for being a double Kinja post of doom.

I think I’m with you on that. Hammond could probably be fun for a little while but I think he would get exhausting quick.

I’m allergic to large vehicles after a traumatic teenagerhood. The direction we’re headed in America, my future looks bleak.
I do really want to know where in Colorado it was from because it doesn’t really fit any stereotype here correctly (presuming it looked like that when they picked it out).

Oh, and a 126p wouldn’t?
I’m going to buy a giant garage in the middle of the desert and just collect small tin can vehicles.

With Hammond and definitely Jeremy I feel like they are playing to a character for the show. May comes across as being much closer to the real James May, I think. Definitely a chance I’m completely wrong and it’s an act too.

I loved that little thing as well.

I still haven’t attained the proper level of suspension of disbelief required to accept that Hammond’s 454-powered truck couldn’t beat May’s Panda in a race. Even without proper gearing those things made gobs of torque.

May’s little rallycross fantasy is cracking me up!

I think a little bit of Hammond might be long-term effects from his brain injury. Definitely playing to his character with a lot of his antics but the ADHD aspect of some of his behavior seems legit.

Oh, a 126p most c
ertainly would! I try to be honest to myself about what I am going to be getting into.
I wonder if I could open a garage on Poland stripping, galvanizing and restoring 126s to showroom condition...

I thought the same thing. And if it’s lifted and all done up like that, I seriously doubt the engine was left stock. i know it at least had custom exhaust.
